One of the most iconic characters in film is being celebrated at a special exhibition at the Burj Khalifa (World’s Tallest Building).
Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style started from Monday November 14 to Monday February 13, 2017 and features one of the largest collections of official memorabilia ever collated in one place.
Unique elements – music, gadgets, fashion, technology and more – from five decades of the franchise will be showcased in a specially designed space at the world’s tallest building. A star-studded launch party will be among the most glamorous events to be held at the iconic Dubai tower.
Fans will recognise Scaramanga’s titular pistol from The Man with the Golden Gun and Daniel Craig’s wardrobe from Casino Royale, as well as the Spectre Aston Martin DB10, while the range of props, production design, costumes and weapons offer something for everyone, regardless of their interest in Ian Fleming’s spy.
The exhibition was first launched at London’s Barbican Centre in 2012 and has since visited Toronto, Shanghai, Melbourne, Moscow, Rotterdam, Madrid, Mexico City and Paris.
As part of the celebration, Emaar Properties will run a number of exciting activities during the run of the Designing 007 exhibition, among them movie marathons at Reel Cinemas, special exhibits at At The Top and even at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo (whether or not that’s Wet Nellie, the custom-built Lotus Esprit S1 submarine car from 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me, remains to be seen).
